Elder Abuse and Neglect Program - Northern Region Coordinator
Holly Zielke has served as the northern region coordinator for the Illinois Department on Agingís Elder Abuse and Neglect Program for the past 9 years. In this role, Ms. Zielke provides oversight and technical assistance to the 26 elder abuse provider agencies in her service area. Ms. Zielke is the northern region trainer for the Illinois Department on Agingís Initial Elder Abuse Investigator Training Certification and Recertification Training. Ms. Zielke also serves as the statewide trainer for the Elder Abuse Supervisor Certification Training.
Ms. Zielke serves on numerous statewide committees involved in enhancing serves to elder victims of abuse. Ms. Zielke presents numerous presentations on elder abuse throughout the year to programs such organizations as the Illinois Emergency Room Nurseís Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Chicago Police Department, the Illinois Attorney Generalís Office Elderly Service Officer Training Program and the University of Chicago School of Social Work.
Prior to this position, Ms. Zielke was an elder abuse program supervisor for 3 years for Metropolitan Family Services where she supervised over 3000 cases of abuse. In addition, Ms. Zielke was an elder abuse investigator for the Chicago Department on Aging where she investigated over 500 individual cases of abuse. Prior to working with elder abuse victims, Ms. Zielke was an advocate for elder victims of violent crimes.
Ms. Zielke co-authored a chapter on Elder Abuse and Public Policy in Clinics in Geriatric Medicine May 2005.
Ms. Zielke holds a Bachelorís Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Gerontology from National Louis University and a Masterís Degree in Gerontology from Northeastern Illinois University.
