Liz Claiborne Inc., and its national partners (
Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence, Loveisrespect.org, The National Domestic Violence Hotline, Redbook, and
Seventeen) have nationally designated December 2, 2008,
"It's Time to Talk Day" to bring awareness to the important issue of domestic violence. They hope that by filling the air waves, the phone lines, the schools and the heart of American commerce with information on this pervasive problem, they will raise enough awareness that eventually this horrible epidemic will be wiped out. And you are invited to join them!
Nationally, "It's Time to Talk Day" will include the following activities:
Liz Claiborne will again sponsor Talk Radio Row. Talk Radio hosts from across the nation will devote several hours of airtime throughout the day to address the issue, featuring interviews with U.S. leaders, experts and celebrities who advocate domestic violence awareness. Leading Talk Radio Hosts from around the country will spend a day at Liz Claiborne headquarters in mid-town Manhattan with the sole purpose of interviewing individuals about domestic violence - how to prevent it, what bystanders can do, why men need to be involved in prevention, how victims can get help, and more.
